SPROUT
Sprout is an organization that takes special needs people out on trips. Typical outings include bowling, sporting events, art performances, concerts, museum visits, dinners, street fairs and movie nights.
If you become a sprout leader, you will be asked to accompany the people on the trips. They occur throughout the 5 boroughs of NYC and you are only required to participate for 2-5 hours per week.
No special experience or education is required to become a Sprout leader. They give you training, which is very resourceful!

-Must be at least 20 years old
-Speak fluent English
-Participate in an interview
-Provide references
-Willingness to complete necessary background checks
-Participate in a training session
-Comfortable interacting with people with developmental disabilities
-An ability to add to the participant’s enjoyment while on the trip
