Lesson on IEP

The Individual Education Plan (IEP) is one of the most important elements for Special Education Events. An IEP should serve as a road map for success, built around a student's strengths with special attention given to areas of academic or personal growth. Since this is such a crucial part of Special Education, we decided to give you articles all about what’s in it, how to write one, and who’s involved in the process. Enjoy!

QSAC: After School Program

QSAC offers four After-School Programs that seek to provide therapeutic and behavior-oriented teaching and clinical treatment programs for children and adolescents with autism or pervasive developmental disorder. Each child has a unique program to help them learn and you can be part of it. You will get to help autistic children with school work and it's at a convenient, flexible time. The After-School Programs operate Monday through Friday, from 2:45pm to 5:45pm on Public School days.

New York Therapeutic Riding Center

You do not need to have any special knowledge of horses in order to be a volunteer!

Volunteers at the Chateau Stables serve as leadwalkers (leading the horse) and as sidewalkers (walking alongside the horse and giving physical support to the rider when needed). You would be providing emotional and safety support to allow the riders to concentrate.
